Rachel Joyce’s The Homemade God unfolds as an atmospheric family saga: four adult siblings reunite at their late father’s Italian villa, where grief, long-buried tensions, and a missing masterpiece surface under the weight of a sweltering summer. Complicating matters further is Bella-Mae—his enigmatic young wife—whose presence stirs more questions than answers.
We’ll gather to discuss the novel once we’ve finished, hosted at the beautiful Bird’s Books (date and time to follow).
